With summer picking up its pace, everyone's focus shifted to buying summer sandals.
We receive requests for flip-flops, and this is not surprising. Flip-flops and sandals are super popular in the summer among both adults and children. They are convenient: easy to put on, you can easily shake out the sand or wash them.
And although our store has barefoot flip-flops in its assortment, it is important to understand that it is NOT DESIRABLE TO WEAR THEM FROM MORNING TO EVENING.
Unfortunately, flip-flops are not the kind of shoes that effectively support the natural position of the foot.
In flip-flops, our heels are not fixed. And in order for the shoes not fall off, we reflexively "catch" them with our toes by pressing them. Thus, "earning" overstrain of several muscle groups, the risk of hammertoes (hammer toes) and bursitis (when unsightly painful bumps pop up at the bends due to overload of the toes).
🤔 It would seem: we choose flip-flops because of convenience. But when we walk in them, we constantly keep the muscles in excessive tension. What makes this "convenience" into a pure illusion.
Scientists from Auburn University (US) conducted an experiment on volunteers. So, when walking in flip-flops, all (!) subjects curled their toes. Because it's a reflex. So if you suddenly think that you don't do this, you just don't notice it.
By the way, during the experiment, other unpleasant consequences of wearing flip-flops were discovered. If you are curious, let us know in the comments. In the meantime, we highly recommend having some other footwear for warm weather. For example, barefoot ballet flats. We just received a batch and simply fell in love with them 🤗
Soft, comfortable, lightweight and feet really like them. And let the flip-flops be for short trips to the beach.
