ABOUT THE ROLE OF THE BIG TOE

It is the toe that often suffers from uncomfortable shoes: it gets calluses, bends, moves to the center due to the wrong size, a narrow toe box or cape that presses from above. But toes on the foot are not just our "decoration". Each of them plays a special role for the coordinated work of the body. And the role of the big toe is simply enormous.

It was not called "big" for nothing. This is the strongest toe - it takes on the main load during movement. The big toe helps to balance and maintain stability of the body when we stand. And during walking, running, jumping, it is the last to lift off the ground and provides the very push that moves the body forward.

Even the slightest deformation of the big toe greatly affects both posture and body position, and in addition creates additional stress on the joints.

Try the following experiment: stand up straight and bend your big toe to the center. The arch of the foot will immediately tense up, causing the knee to turn inward (during the experiment, you can consciously prevent it from doing this. But during normal walking, this will happen automatically, since the muscles that attach to the big toe pass through the knee). And then, in order to maintain balance, the entire spine will change its natural position.

This is how the displacement of one toe affects our entire body. Now imagine what changes occur if we regularly wear uncomfortable shoes😱

So take care of your feet and wear shoes that have enough space for each toe👣
